Raise property value – Clean windows.
Clean your windows so that you can’t tell they’re there. Wash your windows inside and out. If needed, touch up the paint around the window sills to further enhance the look.

The most effective way of raising your homes value is by repainting the inside. You can do it yourself relatively cheaply on interior walls. First, patch up any holes, no matter how small. To get a silky smooth finish, apply a base coat. Use silk gloss or silk finish paint for the fresh and easy to clean look.

If you prefer call a professional to do the carpets for you. You'd be surprised how much better your carpet will look after a deep cleaning.

Many of the new style switches can be easily installed using the wires already running to the old switches. Remember to turn off the power to the room or entire house before doing ANY electrical work. The new modern sockets and switches look nice, and give the impression that the electrical wiring in the house is newer than it really is. If in doubt contact an electrician.
Raise property value – Replace kitchen doors and worktops.
Broken, dated or worn cabinets draws and doors can bring the whole kitchen down, but if the cabinets are goods, it is relatively cheap and easy to just replace the doors and drawers. This will dramatically enhance the look of your kitchen, making it look larger and brighter.
Raise property value – Brighter light bulbs.
Changing your light bulbs to higher wattage can make your rooms look bigger and brighter. Make sure you don't exceed the maximum specification for lamps and other lights. Remember to use energy saving bulbs (where possible) as this will also help with your energy rating (EPC) and save you money.
Raise property value – Clean or paint the Front door.
Tidy up your front door, either clean (if UPVC) or a fresh coat of paint and new door furniture. Both work wonders and improves kerb appeal. Also make sure your doorbell works!

Use large mirrors in the living room, hallway and any ‘box’ rooms to create virtual space’ giving the impression that the room is bigger than it looks.
Raise property value – Remove pet odours.
You may love your pets, but others may not. When showing your property to buyers, try to keep your pets and related bedding/cages etc out of sight. Open windows and use scented candles or oils
to mask pet odours.
Finally, make sure that the value you add reflects the worth of the house. You don’t want to end up spending thousands of pounds only to realize that you have not raised the value of your property.
